Shadcn Datatable Advanced
Build complete dashboard tables with Shadcn Datatable Advanced blocks. Pair KPI summary cards with in-cell charts, grouped totals, and direct row-level actions.

Shadcn Datatable Advanced: Advanced Dashboard Table Examples
A basic table stops at rows and columns, but a real dashboard needs more. It needs summary cards above the table, charts inside the cells, rows grouped with their own totals, and status cells people can act on. These datatable advance blocks bring those layers together in seven complete screens: payouts, team attendance, support tickets, regional sales, target vs actual, budget planning and enterprise accounts.
Every block is built with React, Tailwind CSS and shadcn/ui, and works with both Base UI and Radix UI. Open one, switch a view, click a status, and see how the table behaves before you install anything.
These advanced blocks are part of the full Shadcn Blocks library. Want to lay out a full page around one of these tables without hand-coding it? The Shadcn Builder lets you drag and drop blocks, including Datatable blocks, straight onto a page and export the code.
What Is Datatable Advanced?
An advanced datatable is a data table with the extra layers a dashboard needs on top of the basics. Where a standard table offers sorting, filters, selection and pagination, an advanced one adds summary cards, inline sparklines and progress bars, grouped or hierarchical rows with aggregates, rich status cells with actions, saved views and bulk operations.
In these blocks, the table is the working surface and everything around it supports a decision. A header summarizes the dataset, cards show the split between healthy and at-risk rows, and each row carries its own trend, status and next action, so people can scan the whole picture and act without leaving the screen.
Components Used in These Advanced Blocks
- shadcn/ui components Table, Card, Badge, Button, Avatar, Progress, Checkbox, Input, Select, Tabs, Tooltip and Pagination, all parts your project already has.
- Base UI or Radix UI Works with either, so there's nothing to change when you drop it into your project.
The Advanced Datatable Blocks
- Payouts table. Five summary cards for total volume, paid, scheduled, on-hold and failed transfers, each with a sparkline and a progress bar. Rows show the recipient with a verified badge, payment method, a cadence sparkline, a status with Resume and Retry actions, a schedule chip, an amount with a net bar and a copyable reference.
- Team attendance table. Employees grouped by team, with a header row of average attendance, variance, leave and approved counts, plus an Approve all action. Each row has a day-by-day attendance strip, hours against target, a leave balance bar, a status and an approval state, with Attendance and Trend tabs.
- Support tickets table. Four cards for active, breaching soon, breached and resolved tickets, with assignee avatars. Tickets are grouped by priority, with a live SLA countdown, a status, an engagement indicator and a Needs Follow-up filter.
- Regional sales table. A region-versus-region comparison panel above a hierarchical table that drills from region to state to store, with revenue, trend bars, units, targets, store health and a grand total row. Click a revenue value to see its contribution breakdown.
- Target vs actual table. Summary cards for reps on track, at risk and projected to miss, then rows with a performance bar against target, a trend sparkline, growth, a projected pace and a Re-forecast action.
- Budget planning table. Area-chart cards for line items on pace, near cap and over cap, a filter builder, a Scenario toggle, and rows with an annual cap, a pace badge and a spend trend. Click a row's spend trend to edit its monthly budget.
- Enterprise accounts table. Sector summary cards with revenue, a sparkline and a margin bar, quick-view chips with counts, and a wide table of revenue against plan, growth sparklines, cost contribution bars, change and margin, with sortable columns and a total row.
What You Get in Every Advanced Block
- A summary layer. Cards or a header above the table that show totals and the split between healthy and at-risk rows.
- Charts inside cells. Sparklines, trend bars and progress bars that show direction and progress without leaving the row.
- Status cells with actions. Badges and buttons such as Resume, Retry and Approve all, placed where the decision happens.
- Grouped or nested rows. Collapsible groups and hierarchies with their own counts and aggregates.
- A full toolbar. Search, filters, Customize, Columns and Export in one place.
- Dark mode. The blocks follow your theme, so you can match your brand with the theme generator.
General-Purpose Datatable Features
These are the general-purpose features behind the advanced blocks, grouped by what they do.
Column and Layout Controls
- Column resizing. Drag a column's edge to change its width, in select blocks.
- Column pinning. Freeze columns to the left or right so key fields stay in view, in select blocks.
- Column reordering. Change column order from a Columns menu.
- Sticky header. The header stays visible as you scroll through long tables.
- Density toggle. Switch between compact, comfortable and spacious row heights.
- Saved views. Save and reset a table view, including column order, visibility, sizing and sort, so it persists in the browser.
- Pin menu and reset. A column-level pin menu and a reset-to-default button in the toolbar.
Filtering and Search
- Global fuzzy search. One search box that filters across all columns.
- Faceted filters with counts. Per-column filters that show how many rows match each value, such as "Status (12)".
- Combined filters. Multi-column filter combinations with a row of active filter chips and a clear-all button.
- Range filters. Min-max sliders and date range pickers for numeric and date columns.
Sorting and Grouping
- Multi-column sort. Shift-click to add a secondary sort.
- Row grouping. Collapsible group headers with per-group aggregates such as sum, average and count.
- Sticky group headers. Group headers that stay in view while you scroll through a group.
Selection and Bulk Actions
- Row selection. Checkboxes with an indeterminate select-all state, and a choice between all rows on the page and all rows matching the filter.
- Bulk action bar. A bar that appears when rows are selected, with actions such as delete, export selected and tag.
Data and State
- Loading and empty states. Skeleton rows while data loads and a clear empty state when nothing matches.
- Optimistic updates. Row changes that apply immediately, with an undo toast.
- Virtualized rows. Large datasets that render only the rows in view.
Export and Copy
- Export menu. Export to CSV, Excel and JSON from the toolbar, with a choice between selected rows and the full filtered set.
- Copy to clipboard. Copy a cell or a whole row, such as a reference ID.
Keyboard and Editing
- Keyboard navigation. Arrow keys to move between cells and Enter to edit.
- Inline cell editing. Edit a value in place, with validation.
- URL-synced state. Sort, filter and page state reflected in the query string, so a view can be shared as a link.
Where to Use These Advanced Blocks
Finance and treasury tools fit the payouts pattern, where each transfer needs a status, a schedule and a quick action, often placed under a statistics component for total volume. People and operations tools suit the attendance and support patterns, where grouped rows with approval states or SLA countdowns keep a team on track, and they pair well with a kanban app view of the same work. Sales and planning tools fit the regional, target vs actual and budget patterns, where rolled-up targets and trends sit next to a charts component for the same period. Account management teams can use the enterprise accounts pattern to rank accounts by revenue, growth and margin in one table.
